June Recap from Monthly Newsletter!

At the end of each month, I reflect back on the previous month and update you on what’s happenin currently. I send this reflection out to my email list first but thought it’d also be a good blog post to keep up so here you have it : ) I hope you enjoy and take something away from this

Happy Summer!

Oh July has been a whirlwind of events already but I’m still making time for reflection and rest because without that, I couldn’t be able to keep up one bit. This June reflection is a bit later than usual but I hope it’s still useful, insight and even inspirational for you!

P.S it’s August 2018 now so I know I’m a bit late on this recap but hope you find it insightful despite that!

Enjoy!

June 2018 Recap

Highlights:
– We did our first Farmer’s Market series for Coconut Whisk!
– Celebrated our graduation with not one but TWO grad parties (one for Myles, one for me)
– We canoed and did a clean up float with Blue Earth Project ! So refreshing to do something new and refreshing (even though I broke my phone and GoPro hehe)
– Finally got a much needed massage
– Visited Duluth with Myles for a day! 10/10 couchsurfing if you’re down for meeting strangers & a lil adventure. Also, Duluth Grill, has a decent vegan menu with large-o portions 🙂
– Visited Farmaste Animal Sanctuary .. FINALLY!

Health Update:
This month, I really focused on exercising in unison with my cycle (more on cycle syncing here. As for food, I was really mindful about eating whole foods; but I also listened to my body when I needed something sweet or indulgent (coconut oil popcorn, tortilla chips, chocolate muffins, you know the deal)

Not-So-Fabulous Moments:
– Sad I broke my phone; happy that I got to unplug for a week (I only used Myles’s phone when I needed to)
– More gratitude; less complaining

Lessons:
I need to learn when to give myself a break from anything that drains my energy. Shutting down and finding solitude is 100% okay. Summer offers so many activities and events that it gets overwhelming. Yes, truly a blessing and a curse I know. Take time off and stay in on a sunny day if that’s what’s right. The world will be here when you’re ready to show up again.

Book Recommendations:
The Joy of Less. As we’re packing up our things and moving back to Rosemount, MN to live with my rents’ (here’s the insta post about it), I’ve made it a goal to simplify and declutter our stuff. I’ve already started with the help of this book and I already feel like a lighter, newer and more badass person 🙂

Things I’m grateful for right now:
This season of transition and travel. July is full of family time, moving and fun activities; it’s a lot but it’s also really exciting!

Things I’m working on:
Loving each step of the journey. Showing gratitude for everyday.

Simplifying my life.

We officially relocated to the Twin Cities! More on it on my insta post here🙂

What are you up to this Summer, love? I want to hear all about it!
