How To Find A Mentor

Hiya! So I just wanted to write a little about mentorship today. I got inspired after listening to a podcast (doesn’t that how it always happens?!) and I wanted to put in my two cents on this subject.

So I used to think that finding a mentor would have to begin with a long conversation that ends up sounding like an awkward marriage proposal. Ex. “So _____, you’ve been an important part of my life and growth; and now, I want to spend forever by your side.” I thought that I would have to pull someone to a coffee shop and pop them the big question.

But I’ve come to the conclusion now that mentors don’t have to be someone you meet up with on the regular. They don’t even have to KNOW you. Let books, videos, podcasts, and experiences be your mentors. It’d be great to have someone to meet up with, but if that’s not possible right now– then allow yourself to learn from anything and everything. Every situation or experience is either a friend or a teacher. Remember that!

That’s it for this post my dear friend, hope this gives you a little extra push to keep on learnin’ and growin’– with or without a “proper” mentor.
