Tips On Helping Your Lovely Partner Eat More “Plant-Based”

Like all good stories between Myles and I, I’m usually the one coming up with the wacko ideas.

An idea that I’m proud to have initiated between us was the thought of going vegan. And to this day, I’m glad I did.

It’s been nearly two years since I’ve gone vegan. And it’s still the single best decision of my life. This choice that I made to give up meat, dairy, eggs and etc has been transformative on many levels. I’ve seen changes for the better in my body, mind, and spirit.

Read more about my transition on here 🙂

Now today, we’re not talking about my journey. We’re talking about how to encourage your partner to eat more plant-based. Here we go! And with anything that I write, this is my own experience and to always do everything with love. Onward!

  1. Don’t force anything. Don’t give them an ultimatum to go vegan or be kicked to the curb. Everyone is on their own path. All you can do is control your thoughts and behaviors, if it rubs off then great. If not, oh well!
  2. Talk about veganism in a friendly tone. I try not to focus on what we’d be giving up. Deep dish pizzas with loads of dairy cheese, milkshakes, lots of options etc  (everything has a vegan version now but you get what I mean). I focus on what we gain! Which is a community of like-minded peeps, clear thinking, healthier bodies and creative recipes with wholesome ingredients. It’s funn!
  3. Make really good food! I love to cook and prep for the week on Sundays. I make sure that the menu has meals that are plant-based yet totally delicious. Tacos, pasta, bean burgers. All that jazz; don’t make salads all day, every day. As long as I make it for him and it tastes good, Myles loves it! It’s all about creating uplifting experiences for your partner.
  4. Cook together! Make an experience out of it! I think it’s such a fun way to bond and do something fun on a typical weekday. Switch back and forth with who’s in charge of the meal and if you let your hubby take charge, it’ll be a fun way to see him take initiative in making a vegan dish!
  5. Watch documentaries together or hang out with your vegan friends + tag him along! Surrounding yourself and your boo with all things vegan can really help enlighten him to the cool things out there in the space!

That’s all folks! Are you dating a non-vegan? How’s it going for you? Let me know!

with love,

Bella
